HOT SPRINGS, Ark. -- In collaboration with Alison Parsons Gallery of Hot Springs, K.J.’s Grill, 1834 Airport Road, Hot Springs, is exhibiting a special collection of artwork by Arkansas Artist Alison Parsons.

“Daily Double” introduces Parsons’ latest paintings of the Oaklawn Jockey Club Series in her renowned Acrylic and Dutch Gold Leaf style. This diverse assemblage includes expressionistic mixed media and is presented alongside her limited edition reproductions of the original watercolor/pen & ink paintings in this collection.  In 2003 Oaklawn opened its doors to Parsons giving her full access to explore the grounds and buildings of the race track in order to begin a special collection of paintings centered around the Oaklawn Jockey Club.

Each year Parsons expands this collection with the goal to eventually include all facets of the track.  She is currently working on more paintings in this series at her gallery/studio, Alison Parsons Gallery, 802 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, where patrons are invited to see her work in process.

“It’s no coincidence that we are showing this special exhibit inspired by Oaklawn Race Track at K.J’s Grill,” Parsons said. “KJ’s Grill, is much more than a great steakhouse!”  Amid the aroma of exquisite cuisine and soft hum of chatter, patrons of K.J.’s Grill seem to enjoy not only the dining experience, but linger longer to appreciate the beautiful original artwork. Owners Kelly and Mike Loy aim to provide their patrons with quality food and quality artwork for a pleasant and memorable experience.  “Our passion for thoroughbred racing led us to name KJ’s Grill after our favorite horse, KJ’s Girl, who won the Arkansas Rainbow Miss in 2004.” Loy said. “KJ’s Girl recently foaled with Stormin KJ. Look for Stormin KJ to hit Oaklawn Race Track this season!”

“The exhibit just opened and K.J.’s regulars are in for a treat with the winning combination of fine food and fine art. The staff at K.J.’s Grill is great about having people come in just to look,” Parsons said. “They are wonderful and enthusiastic about the art.” K.J’s Grill is open Tues.–Thurs. 11 am–9 pm and Fri. & Sat. 11am–10 pm (Closed Sunday and Monday).  Call for your reservations 501 767-0063 and check out the great artwork. You may even run into the artist if you are lucky! Bon Appétit!
