NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- The William F. Laman Public Library System announced this week that its monthly concert series, “Live at Laman,” will feature Rena Wren & Company on June 9 at 7 p.m.
This “something for everyone” artist from Hot Springs, Arkansas, Rena Wren has played live shows all over the country ranging from coffee shops to main stage headlining events. Her recent highlights include opening for the Paula Deen Live Cooking Show at Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas; winning The Jay Thomas Show “Homegrown Song Contest” on Sirius XM radio; signing a licensing deal with APM Music for 13 songs from her latest CD, "Sweet Mystery;" and touring in New York City and Hollywood.
Wren’s diverse influences include Merle Haggard, Ingrid Michaelson, Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan, Robert Plant, Sting and Ella Fitzgerald. The band’s “company” includes Rodgey Roach (bass & vocals), Rodney Roach (guitar & vocals), Matt Stone (guitar, dobro, lap steel, pedal steel, banjo, keyboard & mandolin), and David Bishop (drums).
Rena Wren & Company is in the process of recording their next full length CD, entitled "Incognito Baby," with Jason Tedford at Wolfman Studios in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Live at Laman is free and open to the public, and takes place at the main branch every second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. The musicians perform on a stage overlooking the pond in the plaza or inside in the auditorium, depending on the weather.
