GGGG to host crime meeting | Crime
Title (Max 100 Characters)
You are invited to attend the Thursday evening GGGG meeting which will address Crime in Hot Springs and Garland County. As you know, the 2010 New York Times Almanac (page 321) listed the Hot Springs MSA as having the highest crime in the country. Thursday evening (April 12) at 6 PM, the GGGG will host Hot Springs Police Chief David Flory, Garland County Sheriff Larry Sanders, District Judge David Switzer, and County Judge Rick Davis in a forum on crime.
Although the Hot Springs MSA is still ranked as the nation’s 6th highest crime rate, through the efforts of these public servants, major strides have been made in reducing our crime rate. Chief Flory will address changes and projects taken by the Hot Springs Police. Sheriff Sanders will have similar comments concerning programs and accomplishments in Garland County. Judge Switzer will discuss innovations in the court system and some new cutting-edge projects. Judge Davis will provide an update on the new Garland County Detention Facility. Following a ten-minute presentation by each of these gentlemen, they will participate in a question and answer forum.
Please attend and be part of continuing the progress toward further reducing crime in our community. The meeting will begin promptly at 6 PM in the Garland County Library Auditorium.
