'Going Batty' at Hot Springs National Park | Environment

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — This Friday, August 12 at 8:30 p.m., a park ranger will present an evening program about the bats that live in Hot Springs National Park. Are bats rats with wings?  Can one bat eat more mosquitoes in one night than 20 bug zappers? At the Gulpha Gorge campground amphitheater, a park ranger will reveal the truth about this helpful, yet misunderstood mammal.  We might even see a bat or  two!

Gulpha Gorge Campground is located on U.S. Hwy 7-S, a short distance off U.S. Hwy 70 East on the eastern edge of Hot Springs.  The amphitheater is located at the north end of the campground.  All programs are free and weather-permitting.  For more information, call 501-620-6715.
