LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Stuff a 18 wheeler full of food to feed those in need in Arkansas is one mans only Christmas wish. Silas Simone is from Alaska, but is stationed here in Arkansas with the military. His wife, Heather, is currently deployed leaving Silas and their 4-year-old daughter, Margaret, alone for Christmas. Despite this, Silas sees his blessings and knows there are others who are having a much harder time. Silas has decided to ask the community to help him make sure everyone in Arkansas has an amazing Christmas.
Silas will be dressed up as Santa posted on-top of an empty 18 wheeler and won't come down until the truck is completely stuffed with non-perishable food items. The truck will be parked between Wal-Mart and Sam's at 700 South Bowman Saturday, December 15.
For 30 years Arkansas Rice Depot has worked to alleviate hunger in Arkansas.
