New chief: Crime rate falls 7 percent

Police Chief David Flory said crime rate in Hot Springs is down 7 percent after being made chief at a National Park Rotary Club on Wednesday.

The meeting was at the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa. 

Also at the meeting was Representative Bill Sample (R-District 19).

Little Rock Fashion Week is a presenting sponsor for the 2nd annual Little Rock Jingle Mingle, which will be December 23 at 9 pm. The event is being hosted at Lulav Eatery, located at 220 West 6th Street in downtown Little Rock. Guests receive free admission and half off on their first drink by donating at least four can goods that will go to the Little Rock Compassion Center.

LRFW joins Lulav, Hear Beat 106.7 FM and Arkansas Times as sponsors for this one-of-a-kind evening to celebrate the holidays.

Little Rock Fashion Week to give presentation at gospel musical

Little Rock, Ark. - Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW) will headline Community Christmas Musical & Fashion Show with a fashion presentation, highlighting a few clothing lines to be featured at Little Rock Fashion Week 2012.

The event is Saturday, December 17, starting at 6 p.m. at the Metroplex, located 10800 Colonel Glenn Road. Admission is free. There will be a $500 cash giveaway. LRFW will share the evening with national gospel recording artists; many who have been featured on BET such as; Gloryland Pastor’s Choir, Evelyn Turrentine-Agee and Minister Benjamin Cone III.

Attendees will get a sneak peek into America’s favorite fashion experience. The LRFW showcase will preview sophisticated, trendy and couture fashions from 14-year old designer Aalyiah Fisher’s Grafetti girls and teen line, Sheila James Scott’s N'cholé Féroce and Atlanta designer Wynika Smith’s Splendid Fever line.

Little Rock Fashion Week DVD screening free to public

On Friday, December 9 at 7 pm, the Little Rock Fashion Week staff will hold a free public screening of the "Little Rock Fashion Week III" (2011) DVD at The Salon Professional Academy, located 4619 JFK Blvd. in North Little Rock.

Attendees can watch the LRFW 2011 Posh Expression and Young & Fabulous Fashion Experience shows with writer and executive producer Brandon D. Campbell, LRFW staff, hairstylists, make-up artists, fashion designers and models before its Sunday, December 11 exclusive sell release date at LittleRockFashionWeek.com. Food will be provided.

"Little Rock Fashion Week III" 2-disk DVD set features other LRFW 2011 events and special behind the scene footage. Taped this past July in downtown Little Rock, the 2-disk set stars celebrity host Peter Bailey, of NBC Nitecap; Ashley Blackstone, of KTHV; BJ Steed, also of KTHV; and Miss Arkansas International Renee Stone.

AETN kicks off the holiday season with broadcast premiere of Curious George movie on PBS KIDS

 

The Arkansas Educational Television Network will feature the broadcast premiere of the original Curious George movie, which will air as part of the “Curious George” Holiday Spectacular, Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 7 a.m.

A three-movie on-air event, the Holiday Spectacular kicks off with “Curious George,” followed by “Curious George 2: Follow That Monkey” and “Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas.”

Encore presentations of the Holiday Spectacular will air: Thursday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m. on AETN-1; Friday, Nov. 25, at 8 a.m. on AETN Plus (AETN-3); and Saturday, Nov. 26, at 6 a.m. on AETN Plus.

“Curious George” follows everyone’s favorite spunky monkey as he sets off on a series of adventures. In the film, after the Man with the Yellow Hat accidentally brings George back from a business trip to Africa, the unlikely twosome embarks on a fun-filled journey through the big city and ultimately finds their way to a lasting friendship.
