GARLAND CO., Ark. (KTHV) -- Sheriff's deputies say they are searching for a man who may have drowned at Lake Catherine Monday evening.
The Garland County Sheriff's Department says it happened around 6 pm at a part of the lake in the Diamondhead Community.
According to witnesses, 19-year-old James King and his friends were attempting to swim from one area of the lake to another. The young man started having problems staying afloat, then he went underwater and did not resurface.
A tactical response teams and certified divers from the sheriff's department, along with the Game and Fish Commission and the Lake Hamilton Fire Department, used boats there to assist in the search.
Officials say the search is suspended due to obstacles under the water. They will resume looking for him Wednesday.
