Stop and Shop to save some cats

Guardian Angels will be holding a Bake Sale in combination with a 1/2 price or less Thrift Store Sale! They will also be accepting cat food, dog food and cat litter and cash donations. The Shelter and Thrift Store will be open for regular adoption and sales business.

All donations and proceeds will go towards vaccines, spay and neutering of cats, and overall health of all the cats we have. The shelter will be open for people to view their selection of adoptable cats.

The event is Saturday, May 4 at 11 am. The rescue center is at 1540 Malvern Ave. in Hot Springs.

MALVERN, Ark. (KTHV) - Do you love your pets like your own children? Bring them to meet Santa! The Second Chance Animal Rescue clinic have invited Santa to come meet your pets for the annual Santa Paws event.

Saturday, December 1, Santa Claus will be at the Malvern/Hot Springs County Chamber of Commerce Community Room from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be $10 to get the picture made, the price includes a 4x6 color photo and a CD of your pictures so you can print more.

Plans for creating a dog park as a new Hot Springs Village amenity entered a new phase today.

The Property Owners' Association board of directors approved the concept of a dog park at DeSoto Park  at its meeting today, Wednesday, Nov. 14.

During an evening newscast at a local television station, a slender gray striped cat hops upon the news desk. Anchor Liz Massey smiles and says, “Oh, here’s Joey.” The cat sits on the desk and gives the camera a green-eyed stare as Liz and fellow-anchor Craig O’Neil carry on with the newscast. The privileged feline is Joey the Garden cat who is a staff member of KTHV, the CBS affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. Joey has become a big TV celebrity in Arkansas and his fame is spreading nationally.
