AHTD opens bids for Pulaski, Garland improvements | Transportation
LITTLE ROCK (6-13) -- The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has opened bids for improvements to roadways in Pulaski and Garland Counties, according to the Arkansas State Highway Commission.
The first project calls for the installation of a cable median barrier along selected sections of Interstate 430, between Interstate 30 and Interstate 40 in Little Rock and North Little Rock. The total length of the project is 7.3 miles. Massana Construction, Inc. of Tyrone, Georgia, was awarded the contract at $1,502,522.
The second project will replace damaged overhead sign structures along Interstate 40 in Pulaski County, and on Highway 270 in Garland County. Time Striping, Inc. of Van Buren, Arkansas, was awarded the contract at $175,935.63.
Work could begin on the projects in two to four weeks, weather permitting. The Interstate 430 project should be completed in late 2012. Replacement of the overhead sign structures should be complete by the end of 2012.
