Lakeshore Drive to close for widening | Transportation

LITTLE ROCK (6-21) -- Crews beginning work on widening the section of Higdon Ferry Road in Hot Springs from the Martin Luther King Expressway northward to Printers Place will require the temporary closure of Lakeshore Drive at its intersection with Higdon Ferry, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

Effective Friday, June 22nd, traffic on Higdon Ferry that would normally turn onto Lakeshore Drive will be detoured around the closed intersection.  Traffic on Higdon Ferry will be routed west onto Emory Street, south onto Panama Street and back to Lakeshore Drive.  Eastbound traffic on Lakeshore Drive accessing Higdon Ferry will be routed north onto Panama Street and then eastward on Emory Street.

The closure will remain in place until the fall of this year. Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
